Jagdish Raj Shrimali is the Vice President of the Rajasthan Labour Welfare Advisory Board, and on the proposal of the Rajasthan Government, he was appointed Minister of State by the Governor of Rajasthan in December 2022. He is the Chief Secretary of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee as well as the State President of INTUC (Indian National Trade Union Congress).

Seeing the efficiency in the labour world and in the INTUC organisation, he was given the opportunity to represent India twice abroad, first in 2002 in Tokyo (Japan) and once in 2015 in Geneva (Switzerland).

Shrimali is also well-known for his outspokenness and comments. Shrimali's talking style has a great number of admirers who enjoy listening to him and regard him as a role model.

Background

Jagdish Raj Shrimali was born in a small village near the famous battleground Haldighati, where he was influenced by Maharana Pratap's fighting personality.

Jagdish's family's financial situation was precarious; his father was a farmer, and he was the youngest son in a large family. He left the hamlet at the age of 14 to work as a child labourer, first in Mumbai and later in Udaipur, doing odd jobs while pursuing his studies.

At the age of just 17, he was recruited as a laborer in the Udaipur Cement Factory located in Dabok, Mavli Tehsil of Udaipur district, and then he joined labor organization INTAK, seeing the problems of the laborers. Then in this local union, the journey of labor life started from an ordinary worker, which continued to increase in fame and hold among the labor brothers with their efficient behavior, struggling and suggestive style, due to which the district president of Udaipur INTUC (Indian National Trade Union Congress) successfully discharges the responsibility in the state, today 'constantly' Elected unopposed to the post of State President of INTUC.

Shrimali made a significant contribution in restarting the Udaipur Cement Works, a cement factory which had been closed for many years. Today this industry is providing employment to the people of the area. Describing his struggle, Shrimali said that in 2002 this industry was closed. Two and a half thousand laborers had gone unemployed, in such circumstances nothing could be known as to what would happen in the future. However, after long efforts and a rightful fight, the factory was finally restarted. The first plant was commissioned at a cost of 8.5 crores and production has started in the second unit for 16.5 crores. Giving credit for this to his adorable Goddess, Shrimali said that he used to pray to Goddess for a long time to start this factory, so that the laborers who lost their jobs due to its closure, could get it back. He says that his prayer was accepted after 12 years and this is the first factory in the whole of India, which has been restarted once again after closure and all the unemployed laborers got employment once again. He considers it the biggest achievement of his life.

according to Shrimali, During the years when this cement factory was lying closed, he used to get employment applications from many people from Mavli. Regarding this, when he met the Chief Minister recently, Shrimali urged Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to provide another industrial area to Udaipur. He said that if the Chief Minister gives this gift to him, then employment will increase in a big way, poor people will get employment opportunities and the Chief Minister accepted his call and set up 272 industries in Mali village of Mavli assembly constituency. Gave. Along with this, the container depot which was going to be closed in Khemli area was prevented from being closed by going on hunger strike for 6 days continuously.

Shrimali's achievements are no less in other fields as well - while being the regional chairperson of the Central Labor Education Board, he had organized a training camp for the inmates of the jails. While being the director of Syndicate Bank, he opened many branches of the bank not only in Udaipur but also in Rajasthan and established the regional office of the bank in Udaipur.

Being a member of the ESIC Regional Board, Udaipur played an important role in bringing a 100-bed hospital in Chitrakut Nagar. This hospital became very useful during the Corona period. When Shrimali took over the charge of INTUC State President, then the member ship of INTUC was only 25 thousand, since then INTUC has become an organization with more than 3 lakh labor strength due to tireless hard work, struggle and organizational skills.

Shrimali is of a religious personality and considers Maa Hinglaj Dhuni Mata in front of Dabok Airport as his presiding deity and is an ardent devotee. Shrimali did various renovations in the temple premises like dining room, hall, Singhdwar, development work and renovation work in own temple etc. Shrimali from the forest department approved an amount of 150 crores for the development of the hill.
