BJP Candidate and labour of Chhattisgarh, Ishwar Sahu Defeated 7-time Congress MLA and agriculture minister Ravindra Choubey in his first election, now becomes MLA of Saja Assembly Constituency.
The results of the recently held assembly election in Chhattisgarh were tabulated on Sunday, December 3. The BJP eventually won 54 of the 90 seats, despite early trends favoring the Congress. With Bhupesh Baghel serving as chief minister, the ruling Congress hoped to maintain its position of authority. However, the BJP cemented its dominance in Chhattisgarh after declaring victory in 54 seats.
Ishwar Sahu contested the assembly elections and won by more than 5 thousand votes. Ishwar got 1,01,789 votes here, while Ravindra Choubey was limited to 96,593 votes only. There was a difference of 5196 votes between the two.
BJP has achieved a spectacular victory in the Chhattisgarh assembly elections. BJP has won 54 seats and shown Bhupel Baghel the way out of power. Congress has won only 35 seats in the state. Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey of Bhupesh Baghel government has had to face defeat. He has been defeated by BJP candidate Ishwar Sahu, who is contesting for the first time. Ravindra Choubey has been MLA 7 times.
Story of Ishwar Sahu
Ishwar Sahu is a labour and farmer from Biranpur, 110 kilometers away from the Chhattisgarh state capital Raipur. Sahu has studied from Biranpur Primary School. He is 5th pass. Ishwar Sahu's son Bhuvaneshwar Sahu died in communal violence. He has Rs 16 lakh in his bank account. He had received this money as donation after the death of his son.
There was communal violence in Saja assembly constituency in April 2023. According to media reports, communal violence had spread after an incident of fighting in a school. Three people died in this violence. In which Ishwar Sahu's son Bhuvaneshwar Sahu was also there. A government job and financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh had been announced to the family by the Congress government of the state. Although the family refused to take it. After this, BJP made Ishwar Sahu its candidate in the elections. BJP leader Amit Shah had campaigned for Ishwar Sahu. During that time he had said that Ishwar Sahu is not just a candidate but a symbol of the fight for justice. The public supported Ishwar Sahu and now Ishwar has reached the assembly.
