Farrukhabad, popularly known as Potato City, is one of the 80 parliamentary seats in Uttar Pradesh and is part of the state's Kanpur division. Farrukhabad parliamentary constituency comprises of five assembly segments namely Aliganj, Kaimganj, Amritsar Bhojpur and Farrukhabad.
Till 2014, 15 Lok Sabha elections were held from the Farrukhabad parliamentary constituency. The Congress has won 7 seats. Apart from this, BJP has won 3 times, SP 2 times, Janata Party 2 times, Janata Dal and United Socialist Party once each. In the first Lok Sabha elections held in 1957, Farrukhabad came under the Kanpur parliamentary seat.
Lok Sabha elections2019: In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's Mukesh Rajput won the seat with 5,69,880 votes. BSP's Manoj Agarwal came second with 3,48,178 votes and Congress' Salman Khurshid came third with 55,258 votes.
