Rajya Sabha MP and Congress leader Kapil Sibal expressed concern over Arun Goel's resignation, saying, "It is definitely surprising. If just before the election, which is just a few months away, you resign - then obviously there is something serious on the basis of which he must have resigned. I can't possibly pinpoint the reason but obviously there is some element of disagreement, especially when his term was not yet over. "

 

Congress leader raises questions on Election Commission's functioning

Kapil Sibal further alleged BJP's interference in the Election Commission and said, "They (BJP) will fill the commission with their own people as they have done in the past."
