New Delhi: Known for his calm, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has sent a legal notice to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, demanding a written apology within three days. The notice alleges that an edited video clip of a recent interview given by Gadkari was shared from the official Congress X account, distorting the context and meaning of his statements.
Gadkari's lawyer, Balendu Shekhar, revealed that the 19-second clip shared by Congress on its X account was taken from an interview given by Gadkari to a news portal. The BJP leaders were astonished to find that the video had been intentionally edited to conceal the actual meaning of Gadkari's remarks. The legal notice explicitly states, "Nitin Gadkari's interview was distorted and then posted. The meaning of this video has been hidden. The same was done deliberately with a part of the Hindi caption."
The notice further demands the immediate removal of the video from the Congress X account and a written apology within three days. The urgency is emphasized, stating that the post must be taken down within the next 24 hours. Failure to comply with these demands would compel Nitin Gadkari to pursue all civil and criminal actions at the risk and expense of the recipients.
Gadkari's lawyer hinted at the potential motives behind the video's dissemination, alleging that it was shared to fuel internal conflicts within the BJP. The notice serves as a strong warning to Congress leaders, stating, "If this is not done, then my client will be left with no other option but to resort to all civil and criminal actions at your risk and expense."
The video in question originates from an interview conducted by Lallantop, where Gadkari discussed the current state of the country. However, the Congress shared a selectively edited clip along with a Hindi caption that implied negative remarks about the Modi government. The BJP contends that this deliberate manipulation is an attempt to create discord and spread misinformation.
