Nurul Islam of All India Trinamool Congress Party (AITC) was declared the winner of the Basirhat constituency of West Bengal by securing a total vote of 803762 by defeating the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate and the leader of Sandeshkhali protest Rekha Patra in West Bengal by 333547 votes.
