Sukanta Majumder of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and MP of Balurghat was declared the winner of the Balurghat constituency of West Bengal by securing a total vote of 574996 by defeating the All-India Trinamool Congress (AITC) candidate Biplab Mitra in West Bengal by 10386 votes.
