While Bachan Singh Arya was living in Arya Samaj and participating in social activities, the brilliance of his working style was attracting the leaders of political parties as well. During a speech that Bachan Singh Arya gave at an event in Delhi, Rajiv Gandhi, who was serving as Prime Minister of India at the time, was so pleased by him that he asked Mr. Arya to join the Congress Party. And in the year 1990, Bachan Singh Arya became a member of the Indian National Congress Party. He won his first Lok Sabha election in 1991 from the Safidon Assembly constituency, which he ran for as a candidate for the INC. He received a margin of victory of 22,030 votes against his opponent. Arya triumphed over all of his competitors and won with a significant number of votes; nevertheless, Rajiv Gandhi passed away as a result of a terrorist attack.

Bachan Singh entered the BJP in 2019 and ran for the Haryana Legislative Assembly, but he was defeated by 3658 votes.
