INC candidate Gurjeet Singh Aujla wins by 40,301 votes and received total 2,55,181 votes. INC candidate Gurjeet Singh Aujla defeated BJP's Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, who received 2,14,880 votes.

Amritsar Election Result Highlights: Gurjeet Singh Aujla, candidate of the Indian National Congress won the Amritsar, Punjab Constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by 2,55,181 votes. BJP's Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal lost the election by a margin of by 40,301 votes. 

 

In Amritsar 2024 Lok Sabha Election Results, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, candidate of the Indian National Congress defeated BJP's Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, who received 2,14,880 votes.

Amritsar has a glorious history. The Golden Temple is one of the major attractions of Amritsar. The entire city of Amritsar is surrounded by the Golden Temple. The city of Amritsar is named after a pond which was constructed by Guru Ramdas. Apart from the Golden Temple, the old city of Amritsar is worth seeing. Walled around it, it has a total of 12 entrances, these 12 gates tell the story of Amritsar. Apart from its culture, Amritsar is also famous for battles. The biggest massacre of the Indian freedom struggle took place in Amritsar's Jallianwala Bagh. The city is also witness to the bloodshed that took place during the partition between India and Pakistan. Afghan and Mughal rulers had also destroyed this city. This city has been revived by the Sikhs with their strong will power. As much as the city of Amritsar has a glorious history, it has also been an important place in politics. The Lok Sabha seat here has always been high profile.

 

Lok Sabha elections 2019: In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress leader Gurjeet Singh Aujla won the Amritsar seat with 4,45,032 votes. He defeated BJP's Surendra Singh. Hardeep Singh Puri got 3,45,406 votes, while AAP candidate Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal got 2,0087 votes. The voter turnout in the 2019 elections was 56.34 per cent.
