On Sunday, The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati avowed her nephew Akash Anand as her political successor. He was given the responsibility for taking charge of all the states except Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
So,Who is Akash Anand ,the heir of Mayawati ?
The 28-year-old Akash Anand is a son of Anand Kumar, Mayawati’s brother. At 22, Akash entered the political sphere in 2017.As a London-based MBA graduate from college, Mayawati presented him to the higher administrators in 2017. She allegedly informed that he would partake in social events as well.
Anand carried out the BSP chief's election campaign strategy in the 2019 Lok Sabha election. He spoke at his first rally in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. He oversaw the party's social media during the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly election.
Akash initiated the 14-day 'Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay' Sankalp Yatra this year. This is allegedly seen as the BSP shifting its strategy in advance of the important Lok Sabha elections in 2024 and the assembly elections in Rajasthan.
Kumari Mayawati, who was born on 15 January 1956, joined the BSP at its founding and was named its president in 2003.
Mayawati’s political timeline
According to BSP leader Udayveer Singh, Anand has been tasked with fortifying the party's nationwide organization. The development occurs one day after BSP suspended Lok Sabha MP Danish Ali, who was recently the subject of an unpleasant exchange on the house floor.
Ali was deferred after he and other law makers left the Lok Sabha on Friday to voice their opposition to the motion to remove Mahua Moitra of the Trinamool Congress for "immoral demeanor".
