Ajit Pawar Responds to EC Verdict: Here is What He Stated.

Sharad Pawar faces a political setback as Ajit Pawar secures control after the Election Commission's decision. The fallout reveals the repercussions of years of political maneuvering, leaving Sharad Pawar to reckon with the seeds of discord he sowed.

Mumbai: The Election Commission dealt a significant blow to Sharad Pawar, granting the Nationalist Party and its symbol to the Ajit Pawar group. This decision officially seals Ajit Pawar's party as the genuine nationalist party. Ajit Pawar, in response, held a press conference where he graciously accepted the outcome, expressing gratitude to the Election Commission. He emphasized that accepting results humbly is a way to seek justice in the democratic process. Ajit Pawar mentioned the approval of their 50 MLAs' decision by the Election Commission and anticipates a prompt result after a hearing in the Legislative Assembly.

Ajit Pawar dismissed accusations of hijacking the party, stating that they are focused on their commitment to the state's work. He emphasized that they are unconcerned about others' opinions and highlighted the Election Commission's acceptance of their position as valid. Pawar asserted that if the verdict had favored the other party, he would have sought legal recourse. Undeterred, he expressed a commitment to working for the state alongside the new generation, emphasizing their dedication to public service.

Ajit Pawar highlighted their substantial support, with over 50 MLAs, the highest number of district presidents, and numerous office bearers aligning with their stand. Stressing the importance of democracy, he noted that the majority governs the party, citing their majority of office bearers. Acknowledging the necessity to accept the Commission's decision, he mentioned the option of legal recourse for those who disagree. Pawar expressed a reluctance to engage in discord, emphasizing a welcoming attitude towards future supporters and a commitment to pragmatic politics based on numerical strength.

The recent shift in political dynamics reflects a form of retaliation by the BJP against the Mahavikas Aghadi. Just as Uddhav Thackeray lost control of his party to Eknath Shinde, today, Sharad Pawar finds himself in a similar position, losing his party to Ajit Pawar. The notion of political retribution is evident in the backdrop of Narendra Modi's previously amicable relationship with Sharad Pawar. Despite the surface camaraderie, it appears that the BJP has strategically taken revenge over time. Sharad Pawar, known for his political acumen, has, in a sense, faced the consequences of the kind of politics he has been associated with.

The reference to Golda Meir's famous quote, "Revenge is a dish which is to be eaten slowly," aptly captures the deliberate and gradual nature of this political strategy. It suggests that the BJP, under Narendra Modi's leadership, has executed a methodical approach in settling scores, seizing opportunities as they arise to assert dominance in the political landscape.
