The airline issued a statement indicating that flight 6E 5314 from Chennai to Mumbai is currently undergoing inspection. The airline reported that the crew followed protocol, and the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay in accordance with security guidelines. The airline also stated that after completing all necessary security checks, the aircraft will be positioned back in the terminal area.
According to sources, the flight from Chennai to Mumbai was carrying 172 people on board when it landed under "full emergency" conditions in Mumbai today following a bomb threat. The flight landed at approximately 8:45 a.m. the passengers were safely deplaned using a step ladder.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred. On May 28, an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Varanasi received a bomb threat. This marks the second incident involving an IndiGo flight in the past week. On May 28, passengers on an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Varanasi were evacuated at the Delhi airport following a bomb threat.
