Sunny Deol's 1996 blockbuster action film Ghatak will return grandly to theatres on March 21, 2025, as part of the Red Lorry Film Festival.
The official Instagram handle of the festival made the announcement, calling out fans to revisit the high-octane drama and electrifying performances on the big screen.
Rajkumar Santoshi directed Ghatak, which has Sunny Deol playing Kashi Nath, a gentle wrestler from Varanasi who takes on a merciless gangster, Katya, played by Danny Denzongpa. Meenakshi Seshadri and the late Amrish Puri also star in the movie, whose father's role by Puri is still remembered.
When it was initially released during the Diwali season in 1996, Ghatak had been declared a blockbuster, topping the charts as a movie filled with a mesmerising plot, high-octane action, and unforgettable one-liners. The movie last year completed 28 years after its release but still remains very close to audiences' hearts.
To mark the re-release, Sunny Deol posted a nostalgic video on his Instagram, with some of the film's most remembered scenes and dialogues. He also remembered the late Amrish Puri, with his words: "Miss you #AmrishPuri sahab."
The Red Lorry Film Festival, in its second year, will be held between March 21 and March 23, with screenings in Mumbai and, for the first time ever, Hyderabad. BookMyShow India has curated the festival.
Bollywood moviegoers will have the pleasure of relishing again Ghatak's spine-chilling action and astounding performances on cinema screens.
