Soundarya Sharma on Her Hollywood Journey: "No Surnames or Push and Pull Games, Only Talent Matters"

Soundarya Sharma discusses her Hollywood debut with director John Wick, her role in Housefull 5 with Akshay Kumar, and the criticism she received for her advertisement starring Shah Rukh Khan.

Soundarya Sharma on Her Hollywood Journey:

Actor Soundarya Sharma is having a really exciting time right now because she has a blockbuster Bollywood movie called Housefull 5 and recently released photos of herself with Chad Stahelski, the director of John Wick, heralding her Hollywood debut.

Talking about it,  she discloses that it is a feature film. "I firmly believe that manifestations are powerful. I met a friend by chance. They were acquainted with the producers, who contacted me while I was undergoing training. There are no hang-ups between them. They will talk to you and give you a call if you truly deserve it. There are no push-and-pull games, kisi se phone karado kinds, or backlogs of surnames. It is a different experience over there, she adds, "but that is what they constantly asking you here." They do not discriminate and are quite picky about timings.

"Working for Housefull 5 has been a fantastic experience," she says in reference to the agency. I receive the same treatment as Akshay (Kumar, actor) sir and other others. I already feel like one of those "I have made it" girls. There is always the fangirl moment. I worked on an advertisement with Akshay sir, and six years ago, he attended the trailer launch for my business Ranchi Diaries. I consider him to be my lucky charm, and now I get to star with him in his movie. Being his heroine is such a powerful emotion.

Soundarya revealed that her Hollywood journey has been an eye-opener, especially regarding the fairness of opportunities and the focus on talent. “In Hollywood, it’s all about what you bring to the table. There’s no backlog of surnames or push and pull games. Your craft, your hard work, and your attitude determine your worth. That kind of meritocracy is refreshing and empowering,” she said.

The actress also mentioned how the casting process in Hollywood is meticulous and professional, often devoid of biases. “They respect time, effort, and professionalism. Every audition is an equal opportunity. It’s not about who you know but what you can deliver,” Soundarya added.

Soundarya’s Hollywood debut has been a product of years of hard work and perseverance. The actress underwent rigorous training and auditions before landing her role. “I spent months perfecting my accent, understanding the cultural nuances, and preparing for the role. It’s been a learning curve, and I’ve grown immensely as an actor and a person,” she shared

Soundarya Sharma’s bold statements and inspiring journey have resonated with fans, who see her as a beacon of hope for aspiring artists striving to make a mark in the fiercely competitive world of cinema.
