On Day 1, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani reaches double digits. So it can be said the opening of the film was not very good. The first day of business is plainly skewed.. The contribution of big centres mostly multiplexes is positive, while Tier 2 and Tier 3 centres did not perform to their full potential. RRKPK has shown the significant growth on Days 2 and 3. Not just metros, but also rural areas, have contributed significantly. The content is aimed at both kids and families. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the box office collection was ₹45.90 cr.. The performance at major centres was strong from Day 1, but the excellent growth on Saturday and Sunday.

Indian Film Actress Kangana Ranaut is furious at Karan Johar. She compared Karan Johar's film 'Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani' to a daily soap and encouraged him to step down. Kangana Ranaut posted on her Instagram account, "The Indian audience is watching a three-hour film about the origins of nuclear weapons and the complexities of nuclear science, and there is napo gang ka wahi saas bahu ka rona, but hume 250 cr to make a daily soap." What is required Kangana went on to say, "Karan Johar, you should be ashamed of making the same film so many times." Calling oneself the banner bearer of Indian cinema and then denying it.
