Bollywood’s popular thriller franchise Race is set to make a grand comeback with Race 4, and the latest buzz is that actress Rakul Preet Singh has joined the star-studded cast. Adding to the excitement, Saif Ali Khan is also making his return to the series, replacing Salman Khan, who led the third installment.
The Race franchise, known for its suspenseful storytelling, high-octane action, and unexpected twists, first hit the big screen in 2008 with Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Katrina Kaif, and Bipasha Basu in lead roles. Directed by Abbas-Mustan, the film became a superhit upon its release in March 2008
Following its success, Race 2 (2013), starring Deepika Padukone, and Jacqueline Fernandez, turned out to be a blockbuster when it hit theaters on January 25, 2013. Once again, the duo of Abbas-Mustan helmed the project, delivering another thrilling cinematic experience.
However, in 2018, the franchise took a major turn when Salman Khan replaced Saif Ali Khan in Race 3. Directed by Remo D’Souza, the film featured an ensemble cast, including Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Daisy Shah, and Saqib Saleem. Released on June 15, 2018, Race 3 received mixed reviews and turned out to be an average grosser at the box office.
With Saif Ali Khan’s return, Race 4 is expected to bring back the franchise’s signature thriller and suspense elements** that made the first two films highly successful. Interestingly, Anil Kapoor, who has been a part of every Race film so far, is expected to continue his streak in the fourth installment.
The director’s chair for Race 4 is yet to be officially announced, but with a strong cast and a gripping storyline, fans are eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this high-stakes action thriller.
