Prabhas' second horror-comedy, The Raja Saab, has been pushed back from its initial release date of April 10, 2025. The delay is primarily due to the extensive visual effects (VFX) work that is required to give a seamless cinematic experience. Director Maruthi desires to give the best-class VFX, and this is causing a longer post-production schedule.
Unlike previous rumors blaming the delay on Prabhas' ankle injury and other commitments, sources affirm that the delay is only to fine-tune the VFX. The producers have not set a new release date and intend to make the announcement once there is considerable progress in post-production.
The Raja Saab has encountered numerous delays after its shoot started in 2022. Up to December 2024, about 80% of the shoot had been completed, and post-production was in progress. The movie features Prabhas in a dual role, along with leading ladies Nidhhi Agerwal and Malavika Mohanan. Music composer Thaman S is scoring the music, which will feature a mix of songs, ranging from mass numbers, romantic duets, and an item song.
Prabhas' fans looking forward to his foray into the horror-comedy genre will have to wait patiently as the team works to bring a high-quality film. An official release of the teaser or trailer will follow soon to keep the audience engaged.
Meanwhile, Prabhas is already busy with other ventures, including one with director Hanu Raghavapudi, reportedly titled Fauji, which is said to be a high-octane action movie.
Raja Saab is directed by People Media Factory, whose director is Maruthi. The movie has been delayed with the shooting of a large amount of VFX to perfect it.
