Film Review: Sam Bahadur
Vicky Kaushal shines in Meghna Gulzar’s latest directorial venture, “Sam Bahadur,”
Known for her impactful films like Raazi and Chappak, Gulzar once again delivers a compelling narrative.
Kaushal’s portrayal of Sam Manekshaw is a career-best performance, capturing the essence of the military legend with remarkable authenticity. Alongside him, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Sheikh, and Neeraj Kabi deliver stellar performances, enhancing the film’s overall impact.
Fatima Sana Sheikh played well with the role of Prime minister Indira Gandhi.
While the film excels in its performances, it’s not without flaws. Some loopholes in the research of Manekshaw’s life detract from the otherwise gripping storytelling. Despite this, the compelling performances and Gulzar’s direction make it a must-watch.
Bru Times rating for “Sam Bahadur” is 3.5 stars out of 5 for its cinematic merit. However, considering business aspects, the film receives a more conservative 2.5 stars as it will get major competition from the Ranbeer Kapoor starrer “Animal” Despite the minor shortcomings, it’s a film that demands attention and stands as a commendable tribute to a military icon.
