FHF Lifetime Achievement Award 2023 for Cinema Projection
On 26 July 2023, the winner were announced of Film Heritage Foundation Lifetime Achievement Awards for Cinema Projection 2023. Chief guest Naseeruddin Shah presented the awards at the Film Heritage Foundation awards ceremony.
This is the first award of its kind in the world, which will be given every year to those anonymous heroes who awaken the magic of cinema on the silver screen, who spend their lives in darkness, due to which film heroes are illuminated.
Today, projecting films from celluloid is becoming less and less day by day and many projectionists across the country are losing their jobs. In such circumstances, the FHF wishes to recognize projectionists for their significant contribution to the film heritage of the country.
With the growth of digital projection and the transition away from film on film screenings, the future of single screen theatres is hanging by a thread, film projectors are gathering dust and being sold for scrap, and film projectionists have been put out to pasture.
The Film Heritage Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award for Cinema Projection recognises projectionists' enormous contribution to the film history.
The winner of the award has been honored at a special ceremony during the Film Projection in Practice Workshop in Mumbai on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 06:00 pm at the Regal Cinema.

Nominations was open from 1 June to 30 June, 2023.
