
The fans of the heartland comedy show Dupahiya can now celebrate because Prime Video has officially confirmed working on its second season. The show, based in the imaginary, crime-free village of Dhadakpur, impressed viewers with its quick wit, relatable characters, and depiction of small-town life.
The cast includes Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Bhuvan Arora, Sparsh Shrivastava, Shivani Raghuvanshi, and Yashpal Sharma in leading roles. To announce the news, Prime Video uploaded a light-hearted video on Instagram where the cast sings a light-hearted song announcing the new season.
Producers and creators Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani were thrilled, saying, "It has been an amazing experience working with Prime Video and getting Dupahiya on the screen, made all the more special with the love and adoration from the audience." They further noted the next season will try and push the experience to "newer heights with bigger laughs, funnier bits, more thrills, and even more twists and turns."
Season one of Dupahiya was helmed by Sonam Nair and produced under the banner of Bombay Film Cartel LLP. The show is developed and written by Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg.
While the release date for season two has not yet been announced, fans are looking forward to returning to Dhadakpur to find out what new escapades and humorous twists lie in store
