Producer Boney Kapoor has said that he and his daughter Khushi Kapoor are planning a sequel to the 2017 film Mom, which was the last film of his late wife, the iconic actress Sridevi.
While attending the silver jubilee of IIFA 2025, Boney Kapoor spoke proudly of Khushi and her sister, Janhvi Kapoor, who are both acting. He added that they are hoping to follow in their mother's footprints, saying, "She is trying to walk in her mother's shoes. Her mother was the leading actress in all the films she acted in. I hope Khushi and Janhvi achieve this same excellence."
Khushi Kapoor made her entry into acting in 2023 with The Archies, playing Betty Cooper. She has since acted in romantic comedies like Loveyapa and Nadaaniyan in 2025.
It came out in 2017 as a thriller featuring Sridevi's strong acting as a mother who wants to avenge her daughter. It was well-received by the critics and the audience alike and did well commercially. The sequel, which is on the cards, will be carrying forward the story with Khushi Kapoor entering a role as a tribute to her mother.
Besides the Mom sequel, Boney Kapoor is also set to make a sequel of the 2005 comedy hit No Entry with production commencing in July-August 2025.
This news is an important page in the Kapoor family's film history, uniting the heritage of Sridevi with the new careers of her daughters.
