Ayushmann Khurrana Set to Portray Saurav Ganguly in Biopic Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane

In an exciting development for Bollywood fans, Ayushmann Khurrana has been finalized to play the role of cricket legend Saurav Ganguly in an upcoming biopic. The much-anticipated film is set to commence shooting in the second half of 2024, promising a cinematic journey through the life of the iconic cricketer.

Renowned filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane has been entrusted with the directorial reins of this ambitious project. Motwane, known for his adept storytelling and unique cinematic vision, is expected to bring Ganguly’s inspiring journey to the silver screen with finesse.

The biopic is set to capture diverse facets of Saurav Ganguly’s life, spanning locations in India, London, and other places relevant to the former Indian cricket captain’s remarkable journey. The choice of locations is intended to provide an authentic backdrop to the narrative, offering audiences a glimpse into the significant moments that shaped Ganguly’s illustrious career.

The announcement comes on the heels of Luv Films securing the production rights for the biopic. With a track record of delivering successful and critically acclaimed films, Luv Films aims to bring this sports biopic to life with the right blend of drama, emotion, and authenticity.

Interestingly, before Ayushmann Khurrana was finalized for the role, there were talks of Ranbir Kapoor being considered for the part. However, after careful deliberation, the filmmakers chose Ayushmann for his versatility and ability to portray characters with depth and nuance.

As anticipation builds around this much-awaited biopic, fans eagerly await the on-screen portrayal of one of Indian cricket’s most iconic figures. With a stellar cast, a seasoned director, and a production house known for delivering quality cinema, Saurav Ganguly’s biopic is poised to be a cinematic spectacle, showcasing the triumphs and tribulations of the ‘Prince of Kolkata.’
