UGC NET June 2024 Session Applications Begin with Major Changes in Rules

The UGC NET June 2024 session introduces significant changes, such as allowing direct PhD admission for four-year degree holders and adjusting exam fees. The application process began on April 22, 2024, and ends on May 21, 2024, with the exam scheduled for June 16, 2024. Interested candidates can apply online through the NTA UGC NET website, ensuring they meet the eligibility criteria.

UGC NET June 2024 Session Applications Begin with Major Changes in Rules

The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024 session applications have begun with some major changes in the rules. The application process started on April 22, 2024, and will continue till May 21, 2024. The exam is scheduled to be held on June 16, 2024, in offline (pen and paper) mode.

 

Key Changes in UGC NET June 2024 Session

 

Direct PhD Admission for Four-Year Degree Holders: Candidates with a four-year Bachelor's degree can now directly apply for PhD admission through UGC NET. Earlier, only Master's degree holders were eligible for PhD admission through NET.

 

Increase in Exam Fees: The exam fee for the general category has been increased from ₹1100 to ₹2000. For SC/ST/PwD and transgender candidates, the fee has been increased from ₹550 to ₹1000.

 

No Change in Syllabus: The syllabus for the UGC NET June 2024 session remains unchanged.

 

How to Apply for UGC NET June 2024

Interested candidates can apply for UGC NET June 2024 through the online portal of the National Testing Agency (NTA). The application process is as follows:

 

Visit the NTA UGC NET website (https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/).

 

1.Click on the "Online Application Form" link.

 

2.Register yourself by creating an account.

 

3.Fill in the required details and upload the necessary documents.

 

4.Pay the application fee.

 

5.Submit the application form.

 

Important Dates for UGC NET June 2024

 

1.Application Start Date: April 22, 2024

 

2.Application Last Date: May 21, 2024

 

3 Exam Date: June 16, 2024

In addition to the above changes, there are some other important points to note:

 

1.Candidates can apply for a maximum of two subjects in the UGC NET exam.

 

2.Candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam.

 

3.The UGC NET exam is a qualifying exam for Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges.
