In the Kolkata Rape-Murder case, the initial autopsy report of a young doctor, whose lifeless body was discovered in a seminar hall, has revealed disturbing details. The report indicates that the victim suffered a broken neck and severe internal injuries, including bleeding in multiple parts of her body, suggesting a brutal assault before her death. "There was bleeding from both her eyes and mouth, injuries over the face, and a nail. The victim was also bleeding from her private parts. She also has injuries in her belly, left leg, neck, right hand, ring finger, and lips," it said.
A guy named Sanjoy Roy has been taken into custody by the Kolkata Police in connection with the rape and killing of a trainee doctor. The postgraduate medical student was discovered murdered in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
The victim had dinner with her juniors at about 2 a.m., according to a hospital doctor. Because there was no separate on-call room, she went to the seminar room to relax after that. The doctor said, "We discovered her body there in the morning."
In the meantime, senior Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee has demanded that a measure be introduced in parliament to speed up the trial and conviction of murderers and rapists within a week, guaranteeing that they are given exemplary punishment. Banerjee claimed that encounters or hangings should be used to deal with rapists who do not deserve to remain in society.
CM Mamata Banerjee has declared that her government will pursue the death penalty against the culprit. She added that there are no objections from the administration to any central body undertaking an investigation.
