Bareilly police has arrested a cunning person who, wearing police uniform, has so far made about a dozen female constables his victims by luring them with the promise of marriage. Not only this, he has cheated all these female constables of more than two crores. He has even married a female constable. Bareilly's Kotwali police arrested the accused from Satellite Bus Stand. SP City Rahul Bhati confirmed this. The accused was only 8th pass and claimed to be posted in Lucknow ADG office.

Bhati told that the accused used to extract the data of the posting of women police personnel from the official website of the police. He used to know where the women police personnel were posted. He used to deceive people by introducing himself as a policeman. He used to trap them in his net by sending them photos wearing his police uniform and luring them with the promise of marriage. The accused has confessed to 8-10 incidents in his statement so far. So far five cases have been registered against Rajan Verma. He mainly targeted women police personnel. He used to commit fraud with them by luring them with the promise of marriage. In the case registered in Kotwali police station of Bareilly district, he also cheated a woman police personnel of Rs 30 lakh.

He used to arrange loans from banks by taking Aadhaar cards and PAN cards of women police personnel after talking to a person he knew in Lucknow. The accused Rajan Verma is a resident of Lakhmipur Kheri. He used to trap women police personnel in his net and make relations with them and extort money from them.
