According to the most recent, stricter guidelines of the Global NCAP program, the Mahindra Scorpio-N has been rated five stars, making it one of the safest SUVs available in the Indian market. But the SUV was unable to match its performance in the Australian NCAP, receiving a miserable zero-star safety rating instead.
In April of this year, the Mahindra Scorpio-N made its debut in Australia. In August, it made its debut in New Zealand. The Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) has severely failed Mahindra & Mahindra's Scorpio-N, awarding it a zero-star safety rating. In Australia and New Zealand, the Mahindra Scorpio is referred to as the Mahindra Scorpio-N.
In order to evaluate how well cars with safety features and technologies perform in crashes, ANCAP tests cars that are sold in Australia and New Zealand. The relative safety performance is then indicated by a star rating that is published.
The absence of child presence detection, speed limit information, driver monitoring, and seatbelt reminders for the second and third rows on this model was also noted with seriousness by the ANCAP.
Due to the ScorpioN's unsatisfactory ANCAP safety ratings, Mahindra has announced that it will implement the necessary changes during the SUV's mid-cycle update.
